The party is counting down to Rome...
Holidays are almost in touching distance...
Hi friends,
I am counting down until Tuesday when we fly to Rome. Coco’s going on her holidays and wine, pasta and pizza are in my future. I’ve not been to Rome since 2012 (which makes me feel very old), and it’s the tall man’s first time in Italy, so we’re covering some old ground as well as new. I’m really looking forward to heading around the Vatican - I know it’s not changed, but we’ve had two Popes since then so lots of history has happened!
On to this week’s list…
I can whole heartedly recommend these Wagamama sauce pouches - Korean BBQ and Pad Thai. They can be used in a stir fry, or a recent go to when entertaining but unsure of timings - pop some chicken in a slow cooker with a pouch, pull it apart with a fork or tongs and serve with bao buns or wraps.
I’ve recently (paid someone) to dye my hair blonde, and with more bleach comes dryer ends. This conditioner is great and keeping my hair soft, and a little fluffy. Rogue opinion though… I didn’t love it paired with it’s matching shampoo.
Coco is surviving this heatwave and is now 50% cucumber, and 50% Jude’s dog ice cream. We have both the pots, and the bones, which are slightly smaller and get mushed into her bowl. The only way I’ve been able to get them is through Amazon Fresh, but they’ll get delivered the same day you order, so I can’t complain!
If you’re looking for light and fun summer reads, I’ve really enjoyed Emily Henry on my commute, I’ve read both Happy Place and Funny Story recently. They’re well written, enjoyable stories that will make you want to explore the rest of her catalogue.
I have finally caved and joined the millions of people with Birkenstocks. I love them so much, but my feet are in bits. Breaking them in has left me slightly limping with blisters, but the internet tells me no pain, no gain and this is all normal. I can’t wait for them to be perfectly moulded to my feet and like walking on air. Please tell me it’s soon!
